In this presentation, we explore the impact of early screen time on children and provide strategies for balancing digital use with traditional learning. Drawing on insights from experts like Dr. Victoria Dunckley, we highlight the dangers of “Electronic Screen Syndrome,” which can resemble ADHD due to the overstimulation of interactive screen time. This overuse not only affects sleep and cognitive development but also limits crucial face-to-face interactions and physical play, both of which are essential for a healthy brain and social development. We stress the importance of hands-on learning, physical activity, and parental engagement in digital activities to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and bonding moments. Finally, we offer practical guidelines for introducing technology to children, ensuring it supports rather than replaces key developmental experiences.
