About Us
Plant the Seed of Learning is a nonprofit serving families and children in Lancaster County, beginning at birth until kindergarten entrance. Through our partnerships within the community, we lead play sessions to educate caregivers on the importance of early learning milestones.
Children and their families come to our sessions, where they play at stations and engage with community volunteers after a brief presentation on select topics pertaining to child development. The early years are instrumental in brain, biological, and psychological development; the environments that we create for our children are instrumental in supporting their growth. One million new neural connections are formed every second in the earliest years, thus the importance of playful learning.
Families can attend our sessions at designated locations beginning at birth to age 5 prior to kindergarten entrance. They will leave with ideas for play at home and a bag containing a book and a developmentally appropriate toy pertaining to the session topic.
