Welcome to Plant the Seed of Learning

Plant the Seed of Learning is a nonprofit serving families and children in Lancaster County from birth until kindergarten entrance, focusing on early learning milestones through community-led play sessions. Caregivers and children engage in interactive play at stations after presentations on key child development topics, emphasizing the importance of playful learning in the early years when millions of neural connections are formed. Families leave with play ideas, a book, and a developmentally appropriate toy to continue learning at home.

Bring your child to a session where you will learn about a topic while you play with your child. You will leave with a bag of toys to continue play at home. Please explore the session types below. This will also take you to the class registration tab.

2024 PTSL Conference

This conference will emphasize research on play which is often overlooked as an element of instruction. Electronic devices and technology dominate early learning settings today, while children need play more than ever. Play naturally supports the development of self-regulation and can encompass child development and content themes such as STEM and early literacy. Conference attendance approved for six ACT 48 and PQAS credits/hours.
